June 2001

Pilot launched using Sage Line 50 version 8

Sage release version 8.2 and stipulate a new license term that no remote access (and therefore hosting) is allowed under the terms of their license. Negotiations for a commercial license commence.

Sept 2003

Initial license granted by Sage. This license was bureau based and could only be sold to accountants and so we were unable to sell directly to end users. We are graned a period of exclusivity.

Commercial launch at Softworld exhbition. Online50 attracts a lot of interest with the typical comment being "It's a great idea but I'm not sure if it's right for us."

April 2004

At the following Softworld there is still a lot of interest. The typical comment is now "I can see that we are going to do it, I'm not sure when"

The profile of the Online50 service continues to grow as more accountants sign up to the bureau based license.

Nov 2004

Sage notify us that they want to change the license and negotiations for a new license commence.

March 2005

Sage Authorised Application Service Partner license agreed. True monthly based usage license introduced with pricing for Sage Line 50 and Payroll and the ability to sell to end users. We maintain the right to allow our partners to resell the service. The license is fixed for 5 years and guarantees us the right to renew.

May 2005

First users of the powerful and scalable Accounting Office software on the Online50 platform.

2nd Datacentre opened to support continued growth and improve service resilience.

June 2005

Additional funding secured based on a mix of equity and loan stock to support further expansion.

Jan 2006

We are awarded Microcsoft Gold Certified Partner status in recognition of our skills and the number of users on our platform.

The Company

The Online50 service is provided by IT Inside Out Limited, a Microsoft Gold Certified partner and Sage Authorised Application Service Partner. We are a private company, and independent of the software vendors whose applications we host. IT Inside Out Limited is registered in England Number 3144276. The Board of Directors

Rob Lambden
Founder and CEO

With experience of both systems engineering and selling accounting software, Rob Lambden is one of the few people with the vision and ability to bring together the various disciplines needed to make a service like Online50 possible. He founded the company in 2001 to explore ways of working with accountants to better support their clients.

Tony Biddle
Non Executive Director

Tony Biddle is a Chartered Accountant. He was variously Chairman and Finance Director of Biddle plc prior to his sale of the company. Tony was introduced to ITIO by another company that he had founded to offer outsourced accounting services. He joined the board in June 2005 bringing his financial expertise.

Len Palmer
Non Executive Director

Len Palmer has 29 years of experience in the IT software and services with 18 years at board level. He ran Foundation Systems, a VC backed reseller of mid market accounting systems for 15 years before successfully negotiating an exit in 2003. He joined the board of ITIO in May 2007 and brings his experience of the management of sales growth and the accounting sector.
